Ukulele Festivals in Hawaii
Honolulu Ukulele Festival
(Oahu)
The 39th Annual Ukulele Festival of Hawaii
will take place on Sunday, July 19, 2009,
from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Kapiolani Park Bandstand.
The four hour event is free, and every year it showcases
Hawaii's finest ukulele players and an 800-player student
ukulele orchestra.
Great Waikoloa Ukulele Festival
(Big Island)
The 9th Annual Great Waikoloa Ukulele Festival
will take place on March 7, 2009 at the
Waikoloa Beach Resort on the Big Islnad of Hawaii.
The event will included ukulele
lessons, special exhibits, and ukulele performances
for the public.
Ukulele Festivals in California
Loma Linda Ukulele Festival
The 4th annual Loma Linda Ukulele Festival took
place on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at the
Azure Hills Seventh Day Adventist Church
at 22633 Barton Road in Loma Linda.
Northern California Ukulele Festival
The 15th annual Ukulele Fest of Northern California
took place on Sunday, April 27, 2008 from
10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The event took
place at the
Hayward Adult School at 22100 Princeton
Street, Hayward, California.
Southern California Ukulele Festival
The 7th annual Southern California Ukulele Festival
took place October 4, 2008 at the Cerritos Park
East Community Center in the city of Cerritos. The event
included performances by ukulele clubs on Friday
night and all day Saturday there was
Ukulele entertainment, craft booths, and food booths.
There was also luau and evening concert on Saturday.
Santa Cruz Ukulele Festival
The Uke Fest West is a ukulele festival in the
Northern California coastal town of Santa Cruz.
I am trying to find out if there will be a Uke
Fest West in 2006.
Other Mainland Ukulele Festivals
New York Ukulele Festival
Information about the 2009 New York Ukulele Festival
will be announced on the official event Web site
in January of 2009.
Portland Ukulele Fest
The 2008 Portland Uke Festival took place
June 18-22, 2008 at Reed College in Portland, Oregon.
The event included workshops
for beginning, intermediate, and advanced ukulele
players and there were concerts open to the public
on Friday and Saturday nights.
Texas Ukulele Festival
The 2009 Texas Uke Festival will take place
on March 13-14, 2009 in the city of San Antonio,
Texas.
International Ukulele Festivals
Belgian Ukulele Festival/font>
The second Belgian Ukulele Festival
will take place in the Stadsschouwburg and De Spiegel
in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium on Saturday 9 May 2009.
