Ka Himeni Ana Unamplified Hawaiian Music Contest
The Ka Kimeni Ana Contest is an annual competition founded to encourage and perpetuate Hawaiian music performed in the old fashioned style, without microphones or other amplification and to discover talented singers and musicians peforming traditional Hawaiian music.

    Waimea Town Celebration Ukulele Contest

    Every year there is an amateur ukulele contest at the Waimea Town Celebration Festival that typically takes place in February. The 10th annual Waimea Town Celebration Ukulele Contest took place on February 23, 2008 and the 11th annual event will take place on February 21, 2009. The winner of the contest receives a new ukulele. The event is sponsored by the American Savings Bank and Scotty's Music.
