The 2nd Annual Na Hoku Hanohano Awards were given out in 1979. Here are the winners in all categories of the 1979 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards.

Honolulu City Lights
There was no overall best album category in 1979, but Honolulu City Lights by Keola and Kapono Beamer swept the 1979 Hoku Awards by winning in six different categories. Honolulu City Lights went on to become one of the best selling Hawaiian music albums of all time, and it is still selling strong decades after its first release.
