  • Birth Date: November 17, 1955
  • Won a Waikiki Shell Slack Key Guitar Contest in 1979
  • Released his first album in 1980: "Nahenahe" (Hula)
  • Formed a group called the Kipapa Rush Band
  • In 1985 the band recorded "Hardly Working" (Kahanu)
  • That album won the group a 1986 Most Promising Artist Hoku Award
  • In 1986 George Kuo joined Eddie Kamae's Sons of Hawaii group
  • George's solo album "Aloha No Na Kupuna" won 1996 Best Instrumental Hoku Award

    Albums Recorded by George Kuo
    Slack key guitarist George Kuo has released three solo albums, one duo album, one album with his group, the Kipapa Bush Band, and one album with three other Hawaii musicians. He has also been featured on two of Wyndham Hill's Christmas albums and on several slack key guitar compilation albums.
