Genoa Keawe Awards and Honors

Awards, fellowships, honorary degrees, and other honors received by Hawaiian falsetto singer Genoa Keawe. This is one of my most recent pictures of Aunty Genoa. It was taken at the September 2007 Aloha Festivals Falsetto Contest at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel in Honolulu.

Genoa Keawe was honored with PBN's Gladys Kamakakuokalani "Ainoa Brandt Kupuna Award" in 2005.

2005 (Honorary Degree)
Received honorary doctorate of Humane Letters from the University of Hawaii.. "Legendary Hawaiian musician Genoa Keawe was honored during May commencement ceremonies at Windward Community College, where she has shared her knowledge and expertise through the Hawai‘i Music Institute."
