Before he began his solo career he performed with the group Hui Aloha,
the group Na Oiwi, and with his father, the Reverend Dennis Kamakahi.
His 2004 album "Paani" won the
2005 Na Hoku Hanohano Award for Best Contemporary Album released in 2004
Received a Liberal Arts degree from Leeward Community College in 2005
David and his father performed the song "Always" in the 2005 Walt Disney animated film "Lilo and Stitch 2".
