Afatia's album "5:45" won the Best R&B or Hip Hop Album of 2007 Hoku Hanohano Award. In march of 2008 he opened for 50 Cent at a Blaisdell Center concert in Honolulu.

Afatia Thompson was born in Honolulu, he graduated from Punahou High School, and he played football for the University of Hawaii. His parents are Jack Thompson and Cha Thompson, owners of Tihati Productions, company that has produced Polynesian shows, concerts, and lounge acts for more then 40 years.

In April of 2008 Tihati Productions announced the launch of their new company "5:54 Entertainment", founded to focus on promoting hip hop concerts. The new company is managed and operated by Afatia Thompson and his sister Misty Tufono. The numbers 5:54 stand for the football jersey numbers of Afatia and his older brother Eli who passed away when Afatia was in high school (football jersey numbers 5 and 54) In addition to performing and producing hip hop music, Afatia is a husband, father, and fire knife dancer.
