Amy Hanaialii's New Album Features Duets With the Stars
Amy Hanaialii's August 2009 albumHawaii's beloved Grammy nominated singer, Amy Hanaialii, has just announced she will release her newest album on August 25, 2009. The album is called Friends and Family of Hawaii and it is sure to be something very special because it features 16 duets with some of the greatest contemporary and traditional Hawaiian music artists of today. The album includes duets with Robert Cazimero, Kealii Reichel, Rebel Souljahz, FIJI, Palani Vaughan, the Martin Pahinui Trio, Kawika Kahiapo, the Reverand Dennis Kamakahi, Nathan Aweau, John Cruz, Darren Benitez, Kaumakaiwa Kanakaole, Henry Kapono, Amy's brother Eric Gilliom, Sean Naauao and world famous country singer Willie Nelson.     August 2009 California Slack Key Guitar Tour
    Aaron Mahi, Martin Pahinui, George Kuo Hawaiian slack key guitar master musicians George Kuo, Martin Pahinui, and Aaron Mahi have announced the schedule for their August 2009 California tour. The tour will include Northern California stops in Redwood City, Berkeley, Mill Valley, Felton in the Santa Cruz area, and Oak Run in the Redding area. They will also perform two concerts at the Shannon Center for the Performing Arts in Whittier, Southern California. Steel guitar master musician Bobby Ingano will be a special guest performer at the concerts in Mill Valley, Oak Run, and Whittier. Show your support for these wonderful musicians, and encourage them to return to California every year, by attending these concerts and purchasing your tickets early. For more information see:

  • Cecilio & Kapono's Summer 2009 Touring Schedule
    Cecilio and Kapono at the Hawaii Theatre Legendary contemporary Hawaiian music duo Henry Kapono and Cecilio Rodriguez, better known as Cecilio and Kapono or C&K, are reuniting in the summer and fall of 2009 for a series of concerts in Japan, Hawaii, and the U.S. Mainland. Their schedule includes six shows in Japan in July of 2009, three shows at the historic Hawaii Theatre in Downtown Honolulu in August, a mainland tour that includes stops in Colorado, Oregon, Nevada, and California in September and October, and a concert at the Maui Arts Center in November of 2009. C&K concerts always sell out fast, and you won't have many opportunities to see them perform together, so if you would like to attend one of these concerts you better buy your tickets early!

    Jeff Peterson and Jim West Southern California Concert
    Jim West and Jeff Peterson Jim Kimo West and Jeff Peterson will perform a concert at Trilogy Guitars in Playa del Rey, Southern California on Friday July 17, 2009, beginning at 8:00 p.m. Playa del Rey is a small beach community located between the Los Angeles International Airport and Marina del Rey.     2009 Honolulu Zoo Summer Concert Series
    Honolulu Zoo Summer Concert Series Every year the Honolulu Zoo hosts a series of summer concerts that take place almost every Wednesday evening, from mid-June to mid-August. Past 2009 concerts featured Simplity, Maunalua, John Cruz, Roy Sakuma, and the Hot Club of Hulaville. Performers during the remainder of the summer will include Manoa DNA on July 15, Rolando Sanchez and Salsa Hawaii on July 22, Jake Shimabukuro on July 29, Natalie Ai Kamauu on August 5, and Jimmy Borges and His All Star Jazz Band on August 12. The Honolulu Zoo is located near the corner of Kapahulu Avenue and Kalakaua Avenue, on the Diamond Head end of Waikiki.


    2009 Waikiki Aquarium Summer Concert Series
    Waikiki Aquarium Summer Concert Series Every summer for the last few years the Waikiki Aquarium has hosted a Hawaiian music concert series called "Ke Kani O Ke Kai" ("Sound of the Ocean"). The concerts are held on several Thursday nights in June, July and August, on the lawn area between the aquarium and the ocean. The first two 2009 concerts featured The Brothers Cazimero and Hoku Zuttermeister and both of those concerts were sold out. The Willie K concert on August 13 is already sold out, so if you want to attend either of the July concerts for which tickets are still available you better act fast. Kaumakaiwa Kanakaole will be featured on Thursday July 16 and Maunalua will be featured on Thursday July 30. Tickets are available online through the Honolulu Box Office and they can be purchased by phone Tuesday through Saturday at 808 550-8457.
